Um so I LOVED your doll so much I wanted to try my hand at making a moze doll of my own! I hope you don't mind! I also wanted to ask a few questions about how you went about yours. So I have the head sculpted (I didn't have plastic, only clay so it's really heavy *sad face* ) How did you use mold the plastic anyways? That's amazing! It's so much smoother than clay. It not as good as your face, but it's 100% better than any abomination that I've ever sculpted before. I've sculpted some scary looking things in the past. I just got done sanding him and I was going on painting.

What did you use for paint? After looking up some doll tutorials I was planning on using an acrylic paint base and powdered pastels for pigment. What do you use for fixative or a finishing spay?

I also plan to make a soft cloth body in several pieces (neck/pectoral piece that attaches to a torso/leg piece and finally separate arms) and possibly with a wire skeletal frame so the doll has some possibility. I was going to do it this way instead of making a short of shapeless sock body so he has some some form under his clothing.

Finally clothing... Um I don't have a plan yet. I'm not sure what material is best. Did you use a sewing machine or hand stitch. I figure the body will have to be mostly done by hand or I"m going to have to learn how to make TINY seam allowances on the machine.

Misc questions: Are his hands plastic or cloth? They are AMAZING. I KNOW I wont be able to do hands like that at all so I'm just resigning to make fat cloth doll hands. I guess I'll try and make a gauntlet because there is no way I can do a skeletal hand. Unless, with it being Halloween, I can find one from a doll or prop of the right size.

How tall is your doll? I didnt' go in with a plan. I sculpted the head as small as I could get and still get the detail. The head turned out 2.5" and I placed Moze at a tall 8 heads high so the final doll will be around 20" tall, a lot taller then I first expected.

Ok, once again I hope you don't mind that I also wanted to make a Mozenrath doll. I've played around with sculpting and doll making for a while but gave up a long time ago because I'm terrible at 3D art. I found some clay last night and just started to play around while watching a movie and the face came out looking like a cross between Mozerath and Sherlock, I debated with to do but I thought Mozenrath's clothing would be more fun to make

Wow! 0___o It's great you decided to try making a doll. Why sould I mind? Moz belongs to Disney, not to me)))
His face and flesh hand are made of FIMO plastic (skin tone). His sceletal hand is made of another FIMO plastic (pure white). His legs are made of some colored FIMO plastic with leather boots over them. It must be baked after sculpting to get hard shape. I've been making his head for 3 or 4 nights))) So his hands.
What is sanding? What for? I'm not sure I understand this part...
I used acrylic paint for shadows at his face and both hands and for painting eyes and lips (for shadows I used absorbent cotton instead of brush to get even color). I did't use fixative exept for eyelids — matte acrylic polish (lacquer?)

I did the same except for his neck — his plastic head already has got neck.

Thought about that too but it is hard to get the right size.
He is 50 cm high (19''), his head is about 3''. 8 heads high will make him look like some boy from Clamp manga or so. I had to shorten his legs when he was already done coz he looked waaaay too tall.

I think you have all th abilities to make a nice doll, you already can draw)) The first head may be not great, just try harder. Moz is my first doll but his haed is the third or the fourth...
While making him I've made dosen of shots of some (not every =(() steps such as making head, making body, making boots and so on. I can send this pictures to you via email. It may help you.
